Resume of Lucinda Carlstrom

Lucinda’s work is unique, timeless and exquisitely executed.  Her new pieces are so rich and harmonious in all of their elements that they just sing with beauty.  I can tell that so much thought goes into each section of each piece.  Each section alone can be studied for its composition, color and texture.  The result is an overall complex, aesthetically outstanding work of art.”

    Artist's Statement:

As Technology becomes more important in the world, I feel that people, particularly
in the large urban areas, are loosing touch with each other and becoming more and
more detached. I believe handmade objects ties us to our history and that they
possess a universal spirit which reaches out to people of all cultures and unites our
"human-ness" and connects with our "souls".

So much of what we see, buy, eat and use is disposable, mass-produced or impersonal,
made by unknown and uncaring hands or cranked out by inhuman machines. I believe as
a civilization, we are moving further and further away from individuality. I cherish
the objects which come from the hands and hearts of artists and craftsmen as I feel
their uniqueness gives them the ability to visually "sing". History remembers
civilizations by their arts, I hope that our future is not measured and remembered
    for our computers and machines.
